Dec 1, 2006 - 2:48 PM Columbus (6-15-2) at Calgary (11-10-2) 9:00 pm EST

CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) - The Calgary Flames aim to keep the momentum going after registering a huge win against a division opponent when they host the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday.

The Flames downed the Colorado Avalanche, 5-2, on Tuesday, after converting 3-of-5 power-play opportunities.

Jarome Iginla, Dion Phaneuf and Matthew Lombardi all tallied with the extra man while Roman Hamrlik and Alex Tanguay scored the other Flames goals.

Miikka Kiprusoff made 23 saves for the Flames, who outshot Colorado, 37-25.

The Blue Jackets are just 1-8-1 in their last 10 games and dropped a 1-0 decision to the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday.

Columbus fired 24 shots at Vancouver netminder Roberto Luongo, but could not beat him. The Blue Jackets failed to convert any of their eight extra-man chances.
