Sharks eye 4-0 mark for close of road trip

DALLAS (Ticker) -- The San Jose Sharks look to punctuate their four-game road trip with a perfect ending when they face the Dallas Stars on Monday.

The Sharks improved to 3-0 on their trek following a 3-2 triumph over the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday. Mark Bell scored the game-tying goal with 3 1/2 minutes remaining and rookie Joe Pavelski netted the decisive goal six seconds before the end of regulation.

Goaltender Vesa Toskala made 17 saves for San Jose, which outshot Detroit, 19-6, in the final period en route to its fifth straight win.

The Stars ended a three-game slide after a 4-3 shootout victory over the Minnesota Wild on Saturday. Jussi Jokinen scored the tying goal 15:43 into the closing session and Mike Ribeiro tallied for the win in the bonus format.

Defenseman Philippe Boucher netted his seventh goal of the season and netminder Marty Turco stopped 32 shots for Dallas, which held Minnesota to 0-for-7 on the power play.

The Sharks beat the Stars, 2-0, on October 17. Goalie Evgeni Nabokov had 32 saves for San Jose.
