Hurricanes aim to bounce back from loss

EDMONTON, Alberta (Ticker) - The Carolina Hurricanes' four-game road trip did not get off to the start they wanted and they look to avoid a second straight loss Wednesday against the Edmonton Oilers.

The Hurricanes fell to the Calgary Flames, 3-0, on Tuesday as they fired 23 shots at Calgary goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff but could not beat him.

John Grahame made 29 saves for the Hurricanes, who were blanked in four power-play opportunities.

After the Edmonton game, the Hurricanes visit the Minnesota Wild on Thursday and the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday.

The Oilers snapped a three-game losing streak with a 4-0 road victory over the Canucks on Monday.

Edmonton led, 1-0, early in the second period before Daniel Tjarnqvist and Joffrey Lupul scored goals 34 seconds apart to give the Oilers a 3-0 lead.

Shawn Horcoff and Raffi Torres scored the other goals for Edmonton while Dwayne Roloson turned aside 36 shots for his 20th career shutout.
