Slumping Bruins hope for revenge on Vokoun, Panthers

BOSTON (Ticker) -- The Boston Bruins return to TD Banknorth Garden for a six-game homestand after having a difficult time on their recent road trip. Tomas Vokoun and the Florida Panthers played a role in those struggles.

Boston looks to change its fortunes when it hosts Florida on Tuesday.

The Bruins, who are 1-4-2 in their last seven games, went 1-3-1 on their trip - which included a 2-0 defeat at the Panthers on Saturday.

Radek Dvorak scored both goals and Vokoun made 41 saves for his career-high sixth shutout of the season - and second in three games - in Florida's win, which ended a 3-2-0 homestand for the Panthers.

Boston concluded its road trip with a 4-3 setback at lowly Tampa Bay on Sunday. Vaclav Prospal scored the game-winner on the power play with 93 seconds remaining.

Phil Kessel netted his team-leading 25th goal and defensemen Andrew Ference and All-Star Zdeno Chara also scored for the Bruins in the loss.
