Blackhawks hoping to end three-game skid
Mar 1, 2009 - 7:45 AM Los Angeles (26-26-9) at Chicago (34-17-9), 3:00 pm ESTCHICAGO (Ticker) -- The Chicago Blackhawks' two meetings with the Los Angeles Kings this season produced the same score. The Blackhawks will need a different result to end their current slide.
Chicago will look to snap a three-game losing streak Sunday when they host the Kings.
Los Angeles has posted 5-2 wins over the Blackhawks in their two previous matchups - both at the Staples Center - this campaign. Chicago hopes its home rink will provide a boost in this one.
The Blackhawks have not been impressive at the United Center recently, losing four of their last five home games. Despite its recent struggles there, Chicago has posted a 15-5-6 home record this season.
Captain Jonathan Toews notched his first career hat trick Saturday, scoring three power-play goals during a 5-4 overtime loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The Kings have lost seven of their last nine contests. Alexander Frolov netted a man-advantage goal in Friday's 2-1 setback to the Detroit Red Wings.
