Thrashers continue homestand against Canadiens
Mar 6, 2009 - 11:15 AM Montreal (34-23-7) at Atlanta (23-35-6), 7:30 p.m. ESTATLANTA (Ticker) -- The Atlanta Thrashers continue their four-game homestand against goaltender Carey Price and the Montreal Canadiens on Friday.
Atlanta opened its stay at Philips Arena with a 5-3 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes on February 28, but faltered in a 4-3 setback to the Florida Panthers on Tuesday.
The Thrashers have scored three or more goals in each of their last four contests.
Montreal, meanwhile, is coming off a 5-1 loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday. The Canadiens had won four in a row after suffering a stretch that saw them drop seven of eight.
Price, who had recently lost his starting job to Jaroslav Halak, got the start and failed to notch his first road win of the calendar year (0-7-1).
Despite its struggles, Montreal still remains fifth in the crowed Eastern Conference with 75 points.
