Oilers aim for fourth straight victory

CHICAGO (Ticker) -- The Edmonton Oilers go for their fourth straight victory when they travel to Chicago for a battle with the Blackhawks on Sunday.

The Oilers, who have outscored their opponents, 9-1, during their streak, come of a 2-0 win over the Dallas Stars on Friday.

It was a great defensive effort by the Oilers, who held Dallas to only 22 shots while Dwayne Roloson recorded his 21st career shutout. It was the second straight shutout for Roloson, who turned aside 36 Vancouver shots in a 4-0 defeat of the Canucks on Monday.

In between Roloson's shutouts, backup netminder Jussi Markkanen stopped 24 shots in a 3-1 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday in a Stanley Cup Finals rematch. Marc-Andre Bergeron scored a power-play goal in the first while Raffi Torres scored early in the second period to provide all the offense Edmonton would need.

The Blackhawks lost their third straight game, all in overtime, when they dropped a 5-4 contest to the Minnesota Wild on Saturday.

The loss spoiled a great effort from Martin Havlat, who had two goals and an assists. Trailing 4-2, the Blackhawks tied the game, 4-4, on goals from Jeff Hamilton and Brent Seabrook just 25 seconds apart.
