Thornton, Sharks aim for third straight victory

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- Joe Thornton and the San Jose Sharks go for their third straight victory when they travel to Los Angeles in a Pacific Division matchup with the Kings on Tuesday.

Thornton has been a big boost for San Jose's offense lately, as he has assisted on six of San Jose's last seven goals. The center had three assists in San Jose's 3-1 win over the Nashville Predators and added three more in a 4-0 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes on Monday.

The Kings go for their third win in their last four games. Los Angeles scored a 5-4 victory over the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday.

Los Angeles trailed, 2-0, after one period before starting their comeback.

Trailing, 4-3, the Kings tied the game, 4-4, when Scott Thornton scored at 10:22 of the third period before Craig Conroy netted the game-winner at 13:48.

Michael Cammalleri scored two goals for the Kings while Tom Kostopoulos scored the other goal. Dan Cloutier got the victory in goal, finishing with 26 saves.

Alexander Frolov is having a great season for the Kings, leading the club with 17 goals and 29 points.
