Bruins seek revenge against Devils

BOSTON (Ticker) -- The Boston Bruins will be looking for revenge when they host the New Jersey Devils on Thursday.

Boston had won five of six before losing to the Devils, 5-1, on Saturday. The Devils only allowed 20 shots while getting 42 of their own and going 1-for-4 on the power play.

New Jersey's Martin Brodeur enters with a 2.22 goals-against average, the eight-best in the NHL, and is second in wins with 17.

Sergei Brylin, Jay Pandolfo and Patrik Elias each had a goal and an assist while Jamie Langenbrunner and Erik Rasmussen also tallied for New Jersey.

However, the Devils lost their last game, 3-2, to Buffalo on Tuesday. Rasmussen and Brian Gionta scored for New Jersey, which held Buffalo to only 24 shots.

The Bruins try to rebound from a 4-3 loss to Montreal on Tuesday. Marc Savard led Boston with two goals while Petr Tenkrat also scored. Boston goaltender Hannu Toivonen made 36 saves in his first start since November 4 after Tim Thomas was scratched due to the flu.
