Wild try to snap five-game road losing streak

EDMONTON, Alberta (Ticker) -- The Minnesota Wild can resolve some of their road issues when they visit the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday.

The Wild have come away empty in their last five games away from home, but they have won four straight meetings in Edmonton.

Minnesota is tied with Edmonton for the lead in the Northwest Division.

After a 5-2 setback to the Calgary Flames on Tuesday, the Wild had their three-game winning streak halted. Pascal Dupuis scored a shorthanded goal and Todd White tallied on the power play.

Manny Fernandez made nine saves before being replaced by rookie Niklas Backstrom, who stopped 15 shots, for Minnesota, which has been outscored, 23-13, during its road losing streak.

After stringing together three straight wins, the Oilers absorbed their second straight loss, a 3-2 defeat to the Nashville Predators on Tuesday. Fernando Pisani and defenseman Marc-Andre Bergeron each netted a goal for Edmonton, which went 0-for-3 with the man advantage.

A former member of the Wild, Dwayne Roloson had 27 saves for the Oilers, who outshot the Predators, 40-30.
