Hurricanes hit the road again

TAMPA, Florida (Ticker) -- The Carolina Hurricanes returned home after a tough four-game road trip in which they went winless, and promptly lost on Friday night.

Now the Stanley Cup champions hit the road again, this time travelling to Tampa Bay to tangle with the Lightning on Saturday.

The Hurricanes dropped a 4-3 decision to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday, as Erik Cole, Justin Williams and Mike Commodore scored for Carolina.

Tampa Bay has really been struggling lately, going 1-6-1 in its last eight. The Lightning have dropped three straight, the latest coming on Thursday in Montreal when they lost, 4-2, to the Canadiens.

Martin St. Louis continued his fine play with his 19th goal of the season while Brad Richards netted his 13th tally on the power play. The Lightning had wide edge in territorial play, outshooting the Canadiens, 43-20.

St. Louis leads the Lightning with 19 goals and 42 points. His point total is tied for the fourth-highest in the league.
