Kvapil overtakes Keselowski late to win O'Reilly 200

Jul 1, 2007 - 3:29 AM MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Travis Kvapil denied Brad Keselowski the biggest moment of his racing life.

Kvapil knocked Keselowski out of the lead with less than 10 laps remaining and then held on to win the O'Reilly 200 at Memphis Motorsports Park on Saturday.

Kvapil, who won his seventh career Craftsman Truck Series race in a Ford F-150, stalked Keselowski in the final 30 laps, nudging him several times before spinning the pole sitter on lap 191, stalling him in the infield.

Kvapil then held off a challenge by Jack Sprague, who finished second in a Toyota Tundra.

Ron Hornaday came in third in a Chevrolet Silverado, followed by current series points leader Mike Skinner and Aaron Fike in Toyotas to round out the top five.

Keselowski, who had won his first career pole earlier Saturday, finished 16th. He was a substitute in the Toyota after replacing veteran Ted Musgrave, who was suspended for one week, fined $10,000 and docked 50 driver points for crashing Kelly Bires into the wall on lap 74 of the Milwaukee 200 last week.

It is the first time in seven years Musgrave, who was the 2005 Truck Series champion, had missed a Craftsman race.
