Kahne wins Busch Food City 250

Aug 25, 2007 - 3:27 AM BRISTOL, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Kasey Kahne had quite a day at Bristol Motor Speedway.

After capturing the pole for Saturday's NASCAR Nextel Cup Series Sharpie 500 earlier in the day, Kahne took a late lead and withstood a charge from Jason Leffler to win Friday's Busch Series Food City 250.

Kahne, who led on lap 237 before quickly giving way to Ryan Newman, regained the front spot in his Dodge Charger in lap 242 and never relinquished it. He held off Leffler down the stretch to post his seventh career victory on the Busch circuit and second this year.

Kahne also won the Carquest Auto Parts 300 on May 26 at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte.

The pole-sitter, Leffler finished second in a Toyota Camry. The 31-year-old held the lead for a race-high 81 laps.

David Reutimann was third in a Toyota, while Kyle Busch finished fourth in a Chevrolet Monte Carlo after being penalized with less than 80 laps remaining for violating the pit-road commitment line.

Scott Wimmer rounded out the top five in a Chevrolet.

Matt Kenseth, who won this race last year, was 34th in a Ford Fusion. Series points leader Carl Edwards finished 11th, also in a Ford.
