Bulldogs re-sign NRL backline duo
Jun 14, 2017 - 5:41 AM Michael Lichaa remains the only uncontracted member of Canterbury's first-choice 17 beyond this year after the club announced the re-signing of Kerrod Holland until the end of the 2020 NRL season.Holland and promising youngster Reimis Smith both extended their stay at Belmore for another two years on Wednesday to shore up the Bulldogs' backline stocks.
"Kerrod and Reimis are two talented young wingers who will add great depth to our squad in that position," Bulldogs boss Raelene Castle said on Wednesday.
"Kerrod has shown what he is capable of at first grade level already this year while Reimis is a player with enormous potential.
"We look forward to the continual development of both players in the coming seasons."
The extensions leave Lichaa as the only first-grade regular without a deal beyond November, however it is believed the club is considering keeping him as their first-choice hooker.
The 23-year-old turned in arguably his best performance of the season in the Bulldogs' breakthrough win over St George Illawarra on Monday, scoring a try.
"I don't think his form has been terribly inconsistent," Hasler said of Lichaa after the match.
