Eels won't use Mitch's Tigers info: Arthur
Jul 22, 2017 - 6:09 AM Parramatta coach Brad Arthur hasn't pressed prized recruit Mitchell Moses for inside information on Wests Tigers as he prepares to face his former NRL club for the first time.Arthur is pleased with the young halfback's progression since his controversial mid-season switch to the Eels, who face the cellar-dwelling Tigers at ANZ Stadium on Sunday.
"I spoke to him earlier in the week about our expectations and they haven't changed," Arthur said on Saturday.
"We want him to gain more confidence in the players around him and what he needs to do for the team. He has slowly been doing that for us each week.
"That's the priority, we haven't tried to ask him too much about the Tigers."
While the Tigers are on track for their worst season, the Eels are seventh after three consecutive wins.
Arthur said having a week off after their victory over an Origin-depleted Melbourne was timely for Moses's development.
It's meant extra training sessions to boost his halves pairing with Corey Norman, as well as his right-edge partners Michael Jennings, Kenny Edwards and Tepai Moeroa.
"Our win ratio with him in is high and I even think that his first game against Canberra for us, even though we lost that game, he played really well bar a few poor kicking options," Arthur said.
"Since then his kicking combination with Corey has developed and we are getting better and better with it."
"We are really happy with where he is at."
