* May 2006 - Hayne makes his NRL debut as an 18-year-old for Parramatta against Penrith.

* September 2006 - Named the Dally M rookie of the year.

* 2007 - Makes his State of Origin debut for NSW in game one and Test debut for Australia against New Zealand in October.

- September 2009 - After winning six consecutive man of the match awards, is named the Dally M player of the year.

- October 2009 - Almost single-handedly carries Parramatta to the grand final but is well contained in their 23-16 loss to Melbourne.

- July 2014 - Is instrumental in NSW's breakthrough State of Origin series victory, taking out the Brad Fittler Medal for the Blues' best player.

- September 2014 - Is named co-winner of the Dally M alongside Johnathan Thurston, taking out the award for the second time.

- October 2014 - Sensationally announces he is quitting the NRL to pursue a career in the NFL.

- March 2015 - Is signed by the San Francisco 49ers on a three-year deal. He goes on to play eight games as a running back and returns specialist.

- May 2016 - Announces his retirement from the NFL to pursue an opportunity with the Fiji Rugby Union Sevens side however is overlooked for the Olympics.

- August 2016 - Returns to the NRL, signing a two-year contract with the Gold Coast Titans.

- August 2017 - After a long-running feud with Hayne, Titans coach Neil Henry is sacked from the club.

- November 2017 - Hayne requests a release from the final year of his Titans contract, signing a one-year deal with Parramatta.

- December 2017 - In papers filed in a US civil court, is accused of raping a woman while she is heavily intoxicated.
