Wales' RWC injury woes continue

Sep 14, 2015 - 7:30 PM Wales suffered a further injury blow ahead of the Rugby World Cup with Eli Walker ruled out just days after he was rushed into the side as a replacement.

The injury-prone wing has suffered a hamstring injury and his place has been taken by back-rower Ross Moriarty, World Cup organisers said in a press release.

Moriarty, 21 and who was born in England, is the son of former Wales international Paul and the nephew of a former Wales captain Richard Moriarty.

Walker was added to the squad last week after full-back Leigh Halfpenny was forced to pull out after sustaining knee ligament damage during Wales recent 23-19 win over Italy in a World Cup warm-up match.

First-choice scrum-half Rhys Webb was injured in the same game, earning a call up for veteran Mike Phillips.
