Cavalry arrives for injury-hit Highlanders
Jul 3, 2016 - 10:34 PM The injury-hit Highlanders will be boosted by an influx of All Blacks and additional cover for their Super Rugby match against the Jaguares.Test backs Aaron Smith, Malakai Fekitoa, Waisake Naholo and Ben Smith have left to join the defending champions in Buenos Aires ahead of Saturday's game, along with one-Test flanker Elliot Dixon.
All five were given the week off after involvement in the All Blacks' home series against Wales, meaning they missed Saturday's 48-18 win over the struggling Kings in Port Elizabeth.
Also on the plane are loose forwards James Lentjes and Craig Millar, who will provide injury cover.
Three players involved in the Kings match have flown home with ailments.
One-Test All Blacks loose forward Liam Squire suffered concussion, prop Daniel Lienert-Brown has a knee problem and co-captain Shane Christie contracted an illness which prevented him from returning to the field in the second half.
Utility back Marty Banks remains out of contention after suffering a hamstring injury which ruled him out of the Port Elizabeth game.
