Wellington to hold parade for Hurricanes
Aug 6, 2016 - 10:25 PM The city of Wellington will hold a parade for the victorious Hurricanes squad on Tuesday.Wellington Mayor Celia Wade-Brown said the parade, which will begin at noon at Parliament, gives locals a chance to celebrate the team's Super Rugby success.
The Hurricanes defeated the Lions 20-3 in Saturday's grand final through Cory Jane and Beauden Barrett tries.
It is the side's first Super Ruby title.
"We are all so proud the Canes could raise the Super Rugby trophy on their home ground," Ms Wade-Brown said.
"Now it's time for everyone to get out and show them the love!"
