Israel Folau engaged to Kiwi netball star
Oct 23, 2016 - 7:29 AM Israel Folau has done his best to mend trans-Tasman sporting relations, announcing his engagement to New Zealand netball star Maria Tutaia on sical media. The superstar Wallabies fullback tweeted a photograph of the glamour couple on Sunday captioned "She said YES."
Tutaia tweeted a similar photograph captioned "My Fiance AAARRRRGGGGHHH."
In both photos Tutaia is holding a jewellery box with a ring in it.
It came just hours after the Wallabies 37-10 loss in the third Bledisloe Cup Test in Auckland was further soured by a rant from coach Michael Cheika, who took offence to being depicted as a clown in the local paper and claimed the All Blacks had something to do with it.
The romance between Folau and the New Zealand netball shooter first emerged on social media at the start of the year.
Tutaia previously opted to stay in New Zealand in 2017 despite rumours she would cross the Tasman to join the new Australian netball league.
