Korczyk out of Wallabies' squad for tour
Sep 22, 2017 - 2:20 AM Queensland flanker Adam Korczyk is the man missing out on the Wallabies' squad to tour South Africa and Argentina for the final rounds of the Rugby Championship.Coach Michael Cheika has cut Korczyk from the 33-man squad he had last week in Canberra, for the matches on October 1 in Bloemfontein and a week later in Mendoza.
Cheika chose not to replace the uncapped 22-year-old forward, opting for a 32-man squad.
Three other uncapped players, Reds lock Lukhan Tui, Western Force centre Billy Meakes and Queensland outside back Izaia Perese, have all been retained.
The Wallabies depart on Saturday for Johannesburg, looking to build on their steadily improving form.
They lost their first two games home and away to New Zealand, drew with South Africa in Perth and opened their account in their fourth game, with victory last weekend over Argentina in Canberra.
The Wallabies are third on the table with two of the six rounds of the four-team tournament remaining.
New Zealand lead the ladder on 19 points from South Africa 11, Australia 8 and Argentina 0.
Australia have lost their past four matches to the Springboks in South Africa, where they haven't won since 2011.
However, they did win on their last visit to Bloemfontein in 2010, when Kurtley Beale kicked a penalty after the siren.
They also won the last time they played the Pumas in Mendoza in 2015.
Wallabies' squad:
Forwards: Allan Alaalatoa, Rory Arnold, Adam Coleman, Jack Dempsey, Tetera Faulkner, Ned Hanigan, Michael Hooper (capt), Sekope Kepu, Sean McMahon, Stephen Moore, Tatafu Polota-Nau, Tom Robertson, Izack Rodda, Rob Simmons, Scott Sio, Lopeti Timani, Lukhan Tui, Jordan Uelese.
