Experienced hooker Hanson leaves Rebels
Dec 13, 2017 - 9:19 PM Former Wallabies hooker James Hanson will leave the Melbourne Rebels to join Gloucester after two seasons at the Super Rugby club.Hanson played 14 games for the Rebels last season but his spot was in doubt following the emergence of teammate Jordan Uelese, who debuted for Australia this year.
Twelve-cap Wallaby Hanson has played three times for Gloucester in the English premiership since joining on a short-term contract in September, opting to extend his time there.
"After taking everything into consideration the opportunity to play overseas at this stage of my career was the best decision for myself and my wife," Hanson said.
The 29-year-old made 29 appearances with the Rebels, which he joined after seven years at the Queensland Reds.
