Pappa lifts Fire to 1-0 win over Revolution
Jun 28, 2010 - 2:40 AM FOXBOROUGH, Mass.(AP) -- Marco Pappa's first-half goal extended the Chicago Fire's MLS unbeaten streak to five matches with a 1-0 victory over the New England Revolution on Sunday night.Pappa uncorked a 30-yard drive for his team-best sixth goal of the season in the 30th minute. The ball glanced off of the right hand of diving goalkeeper Matt Reis.
Chicago has beaten New England five times and tied them twice since 2007.
Chicago goalie Andrew Dyskstra made six saves for his third clean sheet of the season.
Zack Schilawski misfired on point-blank headers in the 24th and 37th minutes
In the second half, Sainey Nyassi's uncontested left-footed drive from just inside the penalty box veered wide right in the 61st.
