Sep 23, 2012 - 4:40 AM Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - The San Jose Earthquakes extended their lead in the race for the MLS Supporters' Shield on Saturday, earning a 2-1 win over Seattle Sounders FC at CenturyLink Field. It took San Jose just 90 seconds to break through as Simon Dawkins took a pass from Alan Gordon and fired a shot into the upper corner from 25 yards out.
Seattle got on level terms 12 minutes later when Sammy Ochoa's ball to the back post was tucked in by Steve Zakuani, scoring his first goal since returning from broken leg last season.
