Toronto, Montreal play to scoreless draw
Oct 20, 2012 - 7:36 PM Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Toronto FC concluded its home campaign in disappointing fashion, playing to a 0-0 draw with the Montreal Impact at BMO Field on Saturday.Scoring chances were at a premium in the stalemate, though Marco Di Vaio produced the best opportunity of the day. The Italian striker latched on to a low cross from Davy Arnaud in the dying minutes and fired a one-time shot that looked destined for the back of the net, but Toronto defender Richard Eckersley made a brilliant reaction block.
Toronto (5-20-8) remains bottom of the Eastern Conference despite improving to 23 points. The Reds will conclude their abysmal season on Oct. 28 when they travel to Crew Stadium to take on the Columbus Crew.
Montreal (12-15-6) improves to 42 points and will wrap up its debut season in MLS with a home match against the New England Revolution on Oct. 27.
