He then netted another in the 13th minute before turning provider 10 minutes later to hand Houston a lead that was never threatened after halftime, with Omar Cummings adding a fourth goal in the closing moments.
Kofi Sarkodie set up the first goal for Bruin with a cross that the forward hammered home on the volley just after the one minute mark.
Corey Ashe was the architect of the second goal when he stole the ball in the attacking third and delivered a cross to the far post for Bruin, who slid in to redirect the ball into the net.
The barrage continued 10 minutes later when Bruin fed a pass to Boniek Garcia for an emphatic finish past goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth.
A.J. Soares sent a header off the post for New England late in the first half, while Kelyn Rowe sent a volley just over the crossbar on the hour mark for Revs.
Shuttleworth prevented Bruin from completing his hat trick in the 62nd with a fantastic stop, while he kept out another great effort in the 72nd to deny Andrew Driver.
Diego Fagundez tried to spoil the clean sheet for Houston goalkeeper Tally Hall, but his curling effort struck the crossbar.
Cummings scored late on after a shot from Ricardo Clark took a deflection off the forward and found the net.
