Moore powers TFC past 'Quakes

May 30, 2015 - 11:21 PM Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - Luke Moore scored a second-half goal and added an assist on Saturday to lift Toronto FC to a 3-1 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes at BMO Field.

Justin Morrow and Warren Creavalle also found the back, while Sebastian Giovinco doled out a pair of helpers for TFC, which claimed its second consecutive victory.

San Jose, meanwhile, collected its lone tally from the spot via Chris Wondolowski, who picked up his 101st career goal after netting his 100th in the club's last match against Orlando City.

TFC opened the scoring after 22 minutes when Morrow got on the end of a fantastic cross from Giovinco and nodded it past San Jose goalkeeper David Bingham with a diving effort.

But San Jose pulled back the equalizer just two minutes later when Wondolowski slotted home from the spot in the 24th minute.

The hosts regained the lead in the 33rd minute when Creavalle got on the end of a loose ball at the top of the box and rocketed it into the bottom right corner.

TFC seized full control in the 71st minute Moore was in the right place at the right time for a tap-in following an exquisite pass from Giovinco.

San Jose sent numbers forward in the final minutes hoping for more offense, but it never came as TFC escaped with the all-important three points.
