FC Dallas earns home-field advantage throughout postseason
Oct 8, 2006 - 6:24 AM FRISCO, Texas (Ticker) -- Carlos Ruiz and Kenny Cooper both scored as FC Dallas secured home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with a 2-1 triumph over the Los Angeles Galaxy.Ruiz made it 1-0 in the 30th minute and Cooper added to the margin in the 47th minute for the Hoops (16-11-4), who received four saves from goaltender Shaka Hislop.
Landon Donovan found the net for the Galaxy (10-15-6), who officially were eliminated from the postseason for the first time in their 11-year history.
Kevin Hartman turned away two shots for Los Angeles, which won the MLS Cup last year.
