Seattle still searching for win after draw with Revs

Apr 13, 2013 - 10:10 PM Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Seattle Sounders FC was unable to get off the mark on Saturday as the club was held to a 0-0 draw by the New England Revolution at CenturyLink Field.

Seattle was the more dangerous side over the course of 90 minutes, with Steve Zakuani in particular causing the New England back line problems. However, the Sounders have now gone five games without a win to start the season.

After winning its first game of the campaign, the Revolution has failed to score a goal in its last four matches.

The New England net came under pressure in the first half and the visitors were fortunate to see a shot from Osvaldo Alonso whistle just over the crossbar in the 15th minute.

Zakuani had a great chance just before halftime when he got into the penalty area and cut back past a defender, only for his shot to be saved by the leg of New England goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth.

The Revolution continued to defend in the second half, and seemed content to take a point back home.

The best chance for either side in the second half came in the 55th minute and it was once again from Zakuani, who curled a shot just wide of the far post after making his way into the box on the left.
