Creavalle rescues first road point for Dynamo against TFC

Apr 20, 2013 - 10:23 PM Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Warren Creavalle's tally right at the death saved a point for Houston as the 10-man Dynamo battled Toronto FC to a 1-1 draw on Saturday at BMO Field.

Toronto had the better of the play through most of the first half and had the best chance of the opening 45 minutes when Robert Earnshaw took a touch to his right and ripped a shot off the crossbar.

The sides went into the locker room scoreless, but Toronto struck first in the 58th minute as Jeremy Hall collected a failed clearance outside the box and unleashed a low shot that beat Houston goalkeeper Tally Hall to the lower left corner to give the Reds the lead.

Things got better for the Reds in the 62nd minute when Houston defender Jermaine Taylor was sent off for an elbow to the face of Earnshaw, reducing the visitors to 10 men.

But Houston shook off being down a man and found an equalizer with only moments to play as Eric Brunner whipped a corner kick into the box that was flicked on by Ricardo Clark to the head of Creavalle, who nodded it past Toronto goalkeeper Joe Bendik to secure a point for the Dynamo in dramatic fashion.

The result give Houston its first road point of the season as the club was 0-3-0 away from BBVA Compass Stadium, while Toronto continues a harrowing trend of defensive breakdowns late in games as the Reds have allowed late goals in three of their last four matches.
