Tristan Bowen put the Goats in front early on, but Sanvezzo set up Jordan Harvey for the equalizer in first-half stoppage time.

The Whitecaps striker notched the go-ahead goal before the close of the opening period and proceeded to wrap up the affair at BC Place by striking again in the 81st minute.

Vancouver (6-5-4) improves to 22 points on the season to move to within six points of first-place FC Dallas. The 'Caps are 4-1-1 in their last six league contests, winning back-to-back matches in league play for the first time this term.

The visitors took a shock lead seven minutes into Wednesday's clash when Bowen fired a dipping strike over the head of Brad Knighton and into the far upper corner of the net.

Chivas held that lead until the dying minutes of the opening period when Vancouver managed to claim two goals in stoppage time.

Harvey leveled the score by hammering a first-time shot that took a slight deflection on its way past Dan Kennedy, and Sanvezzo put the 'Caps in front moments later by collecting Russell Teibert's through ball, cutting inside and curling a left-footed shot to the back post.

Vancouver added to its lead nine minutes from as Sanvezzo completed his brace, capitalizing on some confusion in the box by thumping a loose ball through traffic and into the back of the net.
