Riera in All Stars squad to play Juventus

Jul 11, 2014 - 10:17 AM Wellington Phoenix midfielder Albert Riera has been added to the A-League All Stars squad to face Italian champions Juventus in Sydney next month.

Riera is completing his return to fitness after a groin injury and subsequent surgery cut short his first season with the Phoenix in mid-February.

The talented midfielder has been working hard to get back to full fitness during pre-season training and says he is feeling good.

"It has been tough but I feel I am now getting somewhere and am feeling better every day," Riera said.

"I'm almost there and it is just a matter of getting my confidence back."

Riera will join All Whites defender Storm Roux in the Alessandro Del Piero-led squad, which will be coached by Adelaide United coach Josep Gombau.
