Redknapp set to extend QPR EPL contract

Aug 29, 2014 - 9:32 AM Harry Redknapp said on Friday he is likely to extend his contract as Queens Park Rangers manager.

The former West Ham, Tottenham, Southampton and Portsmouth manager said he would put pen to paper in the next 24 hours.

"Tony Fernandes (the owner) has offered me an extension of two years. I'll sign it and won't even read it," the BBC quoted Redknapp as saying during his weekly media conference on Friday.

"He's been asking me for a little while, I have just not got round to doing it. Maybe today, if they put it in front of me I'll sign it."

But Redknapp will be without midfielder Alejandro Faurlin for up to nine months after the 28-year-old suffered his third cruciate knee ligament injury in three seasons.

"We're all desperately saddened and disappointed for Ale," Redknapp said.

"He is a great man and player, and he's suffered terribly bad luck over the last few years with injuries."
