FCD's Castillo named MLS Player of the Week
Apr 21, 2015 - 4:01 PM New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - FC Dallas forward Fabian Castillo was named MLS Player of the Week on Tuesday for the seventh week of the 2015 season.Castillo wasted little time making a huge impact on Saturday's match against Toronto FC as he found back of the net after just 29 seconds and added a second goal in the 10th minute to stake his club to an early 2-0 lead.
The match was then halted for over three hours due to heavy rain and lightning in the area. Upon resumption, Toronto battled back with a pair of goals in the final seven minutes, but the home side held on to claim a 3-2 win.
The MLS Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by a panel of journalists from the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR). The group consists of members of print, television, radio and online media.
