Georgievski to depart Victory for Jets
Mar 31, 2017 - 3:46 AM Defender Daniel Georgievski will leave Melbourne Victory at the end of the A-League season to link up with the Newcastle Jets, for the next two seasons.The 29-year-old will boost a struggling Jets defence which has conceded 46 goals in 24 games this season - the equal-second worst record in the league.
Georgievski posted a message on Instagram to announce his decision and thank the Victory faithful.
"To all the Melbourne Victory fans.
"Just want to let you know that this will be my last season at the club.
You guys have been with me through the good times and the bad and i will never forget it so from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU and let's win this championship."
Georgievski, a Sydney-born Macedonia international, has played 79 games for the Victory since arriving at the club in 2014 - 19 of them this season.
"We accept Daniel's decision, but our collective focus is what we can achieve together this season," Victory coach Kevin Muscat said in a statement posted on the club's website.
Georgievski was a member of the 2015 Championship-winning Victory side that also claimed the Premiers' Plate and FFA Cup.
