- The Cleveland Browns playoff game against the New York Jets Jan. 1987. The Browns had done nothing offensively in the second half and were lucky to be down by 10 with 4:30 to go in the game. The Browns trailed 20-10. Most of the fans started hopelessly filing out. The Browns received the ball at their own 20 yard line and the Jets were called for personal fouls on two consecutive plays spotting the ball on the fifty yard line. In two plays, and 25sec later the Browns were back in it 20-17. After stopping the Jets and getting the ball back with less than 2min left, the Browns' scored a FG to tie it up and take the game into OT. In the first OT, the winds off Lake Erie were picking up and a snowstorm was approaching. Each team managed to miss two FGs. In the second OT, the Browns were able to score a FG to win it 23-20. I will never forget how cold I was during most of the game and how it did not matter after the Browns got the ball on the 50 yard line in the 4th quarter of regulation. That set up one the greatest games to be played the following week when John Elway managed one of the greates comebacks of all time and today is known as "THE DRIVE".
