McCoughtry, Dream beat Liberty by 21
Jun 15, 2011 - 1:26 AM New York, NY (Sports Network) - Angel McCoughtry scored 18 points and the Atlanta Dream rolled to a 79-58 win over the New York Liberty on Tuesday for their first victory of the season.Erika de Souza added 12 points and Sancho Lyttle and Sandora Irvin scored 10 apiece for the Dream, who had started the season with three straight losses to New York, Washington and San Antonio.
They led by as many as 23 points in this one, out-shooting the Liberty 47 to 36 percent.
Essence Carson scored a game-high 21 points for New York, which has lost two in a row since opening the season 2-0. Kia Vaughn added 16 points but was the only other Liberty player in double digits.
