Zellous helps Indiana down Washington
Jun 22, 2011 - 1:39 AM Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Shavonte Zellous totaled 21 points to help the Indiana Fever take an 89-80 win over the Washington Mystics at Verizon Center.Jessica Davenport had 18 points and six rebounds while Briann January added 18 points and nine assists for the Fever, who snapped a two-game slide.
Crystal Langhorne led all scorers with 23 points and a game-high nine rebounds and Matee Ajavon donated 17 points for the Mystics, who have dropped their past four games.
Washington held a 24-13 lead after the first quarter, but Indiana responded with a 29-point second quarter to take a 42-39 lead into the break.
It was a 63-57 lead after three quarters of play and the Fever were able to hold on down the win on the road.
