Charles, Sun too much for Sparks
Jun 29, 2011 - 2:46 AM Uncasville, CT (Sports Network) - Tina Charles was dominant with 22 points and 23 rebounds in the Connecticut Sun's 79-76 win over the Los Angeles Sparks.Renee Montgomery scored 17 points for the Sun, who got 16 points each from Asjha Jones and Kara Lawson. Jones also chipped in with nine boards.
Kristi Toliver notched 19 points off the bench for the Sparks, who got 11 points from reserve LaToya Pringle. Starting forward DeLisha Milton-Jones netted 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the losing effort.
The game was tied with a little over two minutes remaining, but Montgomery hit a driving layup with 35.8 seconds left and drained two free throws with time running down to seal the game.
