Liberty hold off Dream
Aug 3, 2011 - 1:46 AM Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Plenette Pierson scored 20 points and pulled down eight rebounds to help the New York Liberty down the Atlanta Dream, 85-75.Cappie Pondexter added 16 points, five boards and five assists for the Liberty, who bounced back from Saturday's loss to Phoenix. Nicole Powell and Leilani Mitchell donated 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Angel McCoughtry finished with 24 points and six rebounds for the Dream, who have lost two in a row since a five-game winning streak. Lindsey Harding had 14 points and nine assists.
New York went 11-of-19 from three-point range, while Atlanta went 0-for-6 from beyond the arc.
