Carson's 20 lead Liberty over Mystics
Sep 1, 2012 - 10:10 PM Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - Essence Carson dropped in 20 points off the bench and the New York Liberty beat the Washington Mystics, 79-73.Cappie Pondexter added 16 points and Kara Braxton scored 14 for the Liberty, which snapped a three-game losing streak.
Monique Currie paced the Mystics with 20 points, but the team lost its fifth straight game.
New York, which led by as much as 18 in the second half, forced 18 turnovers in the win.
The Liberty led by 13 at half and took the same lead into the fourth quarter when the Mystics were able to close the gap to three.
