Storm cruises past Silver Stars
Sep 22, 2012 - 4:54 AM Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Katie Smith had 16 points, six rebounds and six assists to lead the Seattle Storm to an 84-75 win over the San Antonio Silver Stars on Friday.Ann Wauters chipped in with 14 points and 13 rebounds off the bench and Sue Bird had 12 points for the Storm, who have won two straight on the heels of a four-game skid.
Danielle Adams scored 16 points and 10 rebounds and Sophia Young had 12 points and 11 boards for the Silver Stars, who have dropped two of three.
The Storm outscored the Silver Stars 28-12 after going 5-for-6 from behind- the-arc in the second quarter to take a 48-29 lead into the break.
The Silver Stars pulled within 62-54 in the third, but couldn't stop the Storm in the fourth quarter and Seattle cruised to the easy win.
The Storm will face the Minnesota Lynx on Aug. 28 in the Western Conference Semi-Finals and the Silver Stars will take on the Los Angeles Sparks Aug. 27 in their playoff opener.
