White lifts Sun over Dream

Aug 15, 2013 - 1:44 AM Uncasville, CT (Sports Network) - Tan White's jumper with 0.6 seconds remaining lifted the Connecticut Sun to an 88-86 win over the Atlanta Dream on Wednesday.

Two Angel McCoughtry free throws made it 86-83 in favor of Atlanta with 1:39 remaining before Renee Montgomery tied the contest with a 3-pointer with 1:19 left.

Atlanta was unable to take advantage at the other end after grabbing two offensive rebounds. Erika de Souza snatched the first following two Armintie Herrington missed foul shots. McCoughtry then missed a jumper and Tiffany Hayes came down with the board, but Jasmine Thomas misfired on a long jumper to keep the game tied with 23.6 ticks left.

The Sun then took the clock down before White made the game-winner.

Tina Charles had 25 points and six rebounds for the Sun, who snapped a three- game slide.

McCoughtry netted 33 points for Atlanta, which overcame a 15-point third- quarter deficit to tie the game late.
