Sun cruise past Liberty
Aug 4, 2013 - 12:25 AM Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - Tina Charles scored 21 points and pulled down 14 rebounds as the Connecticut Sun cruised to an 88-66 victory over the New York Liberty on Saturday night.Renee Montgomery scored eight of her 18 points in a decisive third quarter for the Sun, who have won two in a row since a three-game skid. Kelsey Griffin and Allison Hightower added 16 and 13 points, respectively.
Connecticut, which trailed 34-33 at the half, outscored New York by a 27-14 margin in the third period.
Kara Braxton ended with 18 points for the Liberty, who received 17 points apiece from Plenette Pierson and Cappie Pondexter.
