Sparks crush Lynx, stay unbeaten at home
Jul 3, 2013 - 5:14 AM Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Candace Parker dropped in 27 points and the Los Angeles Sparks stayed perfect at home with a thorough 96-66 thumping of the Minnesota Lynx.Nneka Ogwumike added 12 points and 10 rebounds and Kristi Toliver chipped in 14 points with nine assists for the Sparks, whose six wins this season have all come at Staples Center.
Lindsay Whalen paced the Lynx with 19 points, while Rebekkah Brunson posted a double-double with 18 points and 12 boards.
Minnesota has lost twice at Staples Center this year by a combined 58 points.
The Sparks broke the game open by shooting a blistering 13-of-17 (77 percent) from the field in a 35-point second quarter. They went into the break holding a healthy 60-39 lead and cruised to their 16th straight home win.
