Sparks edge Storm
Jul 21, 2013 - 4:33 AM Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Alana Beard made the game-winning shot with 10.2 seconds remaining in regulation as the Los Angeles Sparks defeated the Seattle Storm, 65-64, on Saturday.Down 64-61, Lindsey Harding made a layup to cut the deficit to one with 30.9 second left. Seattle's Shekinna Stricklen missed a 3-pointer with 22.9 seconds to go and Beard's shot from 15 feet away allowed Los Angeles to take the lead.
In the final second, Temeka Johnson and Tina Thompson attempted layups, but both of them were blocked by Nneka Ogwumike.
Ogwumike had 24 points and nine rebounds while Harding had 10 points and eight assists for the Sparks, who have won seven of their last eight games.
Camille Little scored 22 points while Stricklen added 13 for the Storm, who are on a two-game losing streak.
