LA ends successful road trip by topping New York
Aug 10, 2013 - 7:33 PM Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - Jantel Lavender totaled 18 points and Kristi Toliver added 16 as Los Angeles took down New York, 85-67, on Saturday.Lindsey Harding and Candace Parker each turned in 12 points for the Sparks, who completed a five-game road trip with a 4-1 record including four straight victories.
Cappie Pondexter's game-best 22 points wasn't enough for the Liberty, while Plenette Pierson totaled 12 points in the setback, New York's third in its last five.
Los Angeles showed no signs of road fatigue right off the bat, taking a 23-13 edge after one quarter. The Sparks led 39-30 at the break, then pushed the edge to 67-51 after three and cruised from there.
