Storm rout Sparks
Aug 21, 2013 - 4:21 AM Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Temeka Johnson and Tina Thompson scored 18 and 17 points, respectively, as the Seattle Storm defeated the Los Angeles Sparks, 77-57, on Tuesday.Thompson also grabbed 10 boards while Tanisha Wright had 12 points and nine assists for the Storm, who broke an eight-game skid against the Sparks.
Nneka Oguwmike scored 12 points while Alana Beard and Lindsey Harding had 10 points apiece for the Sparks, who had a six-game winning streak snapped. They are 1/2 game behind the Lynx for the top spot in the Western Conference standings.
Seattle had a 23-21 edge after the first quarter, but dominated throughout the rest of the game.
At halftime, the Storm had a 51-37 lead. Though they were outscored by the Sparks in the third, 16-12, they limited Los Angeles to just four points in the fourth.
