Augustus, Moore lead Lynx past Sparks
Sep 5, 2013 - 2:43 AM Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Seimone Augustus poured in 23 points and Maya Moore added 20 as the Minnesota Lynx cruised to an 83-74 win over the Los Angeles Sparks on Wednesday.Rebekkah Brunson scored 11 points and pulled down 11 rebounds and Janel McCarville finished with 12 for the Lynx, who improved to a WNBA-best 23-7.
Candace Parker poured in a game-high 25 points and Kristi Toliver added 14 points for the Sparks, who sit 2 1/2 games behind Minnesota for the top spot in the Western Conference.
Parker drained a short jumper with 31 seconds left to cap a 17-6 swing to pull LA within 77-72. Parker was fouled on the play, but missed the free throw, and the Sparks were forced to foul Moore, who knocked down a pair from the charity stripe.
Toliver bricked a trey on the ensuing possession, and Moore knocked down two more free throws to make it a nine-point game.
