Bench keys Mystics' 3-OT win over Sparks

Jun 1, 2014 - 11:24 PM Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - Bria Hartley led four Washington reserves in double figures with 20 points in the Mystics' 92-84 triple overtime win over the Los Angeles Sparks on Sunday.

Hartley shot 7-for-11 while fellow rookie and former UConn teammate Stefanie Dolson chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds, also off the bench, for her first career double-double. Ivory Latta was the lone Mystics starter to net double figures, tallying 14 points with a game-high eight assists.

Washington won despite committing 29 turnovers.

Candace Parker stuffed the stat sheet in the setback, tallying 32 points, 12 rebounds, six assists and six steals. Parker has led the Sparks in scoring in all four of their games this season.

Hartley put Washington in front, 59-57, with 1:24 left in regulation with a driving layup, but Parker countered on the other end with a running bank shot. Neither team scored again in the final minute.

LA held leads late in both of the first two overtime periods, but Latta extended the game both times. Her triple with 5.9 seconds left in the initial extra session tied the score at 66-66, and she potted two free throws to tie it at 78 with 5.0 ticks showing in the second.

The Sparks jumped out to an 84-81 lead three minutes into the final overtime, but Latta's 3-ball at the 1:11 mark put Washington in front for good. Hartley, Jelena Milovanovic and Dolson all went 2-for-2 from the stripe in the final 17 seconds to secure the victory.
